Car Hit By Stolen Jeep, Woman Injured

Omaha Police say a woman was seriously injured after her car was struck by a jeep around 12:15 Monday afternoon.  The force of the collision forced the Ford Fusion into a house just south of 20th and Martha.

Sergeant Doug Klein tells NewsRadio 1110 KFAB the stolen black Jeep pulled out abruptly from an on street parking spot and struck the northbound Fusion.  it went through a fence and front yard before slamming into the side of the front porch

The woman driving the Fusion was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.   Klein says according to witnesses, the two men in the Jeep grabbed backpacks and fled the scene on foot.

The car broke a gas meter on the house and MUD crews were able to quickly get the gas shut off.
