Speed and Alcohol Considered Factors In Fiery Crash

Omaha Police are trying to identify the man who was killed in a fiery one vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon on the westbound I-80 to northbound I-680 ramp.

Investigators say a Dodge Ram work van was speeding when it lost control around 1:00. The van then vaulted over a metal guardrail, struck a concrete bridge support and rolled over before catching fire.

One adult male was declared dead at the scene and another man was transported to Nebraska Medicine with serious injuries, he is being treated for severe burns to his lower legs. A third man was taken to Methodists Hospital by private vehicle, where he was treated for minor injuries.

Speed and alcohol are both believed to be factors in the crash.

Traffic investigators are working to determine the identification of each person and where they were sitting in the van.
