Nebraska U.S. Senator Deb Fischer was at Eppley Airfield Saturday morning to announce she is running for re-election.
Senator Fischer stated, "It has been the honor of my lifetime to be your fighter, and today I am asking you for the chance to keep on fighting for our shared values as I declare my candidacy for U.S. Senate in 2018. While we have made progress, we all know there is still more work to do to secure that brighter future we all want for our children and our grandchildren. Together, we can meet those challenges. We can build stronger families and stronger communities. We can secure our nation and we can make the next century another American century."
Senator Fischer will spend the rest of the day visiting several communities in Nebraska with stops in Grand Island, Kearney and Lincoln. Former Governors Dave Heineman and Kay Orr will accompany Senator Fischer during the state-wide tour.
