Update: The motorcyclist is identified as 63 year old Michael Kubat. The driver of the Hyundai is identified as 41 year old Sheri Martin.
A motorcyclist is in the hospital after a crash downtown Thursday afternoon.
Omaha Police Sergeant Chuck Casey says the motorcyclist was driving a Harley-Davidson motorcycle southbound on 16th Street. "According to some witness statements, the operator of the motorcycle violated two red lights. The first one at Howard, the second one at Jackson."
Casey says the motorcycle hit a westbound car in the intersection at 16th and Jackson. "As it entered Jackson Street, it collided with the right, rear passenger side of a gray Hyundai."
The motorcycle driver was taken to Nebraska Medicine with serious injuries.
The driver of the Hyundai did not suffer any injuries in the crash. The accident remains under investigation.
