LSU Baseball Team Visits Pediatric Patients

The LSU baseball team gained a few extra fans Thursday.

The team spent part of their day off visiting young patients at Nebraska Medicine.  One of those patients is Kylie Bush, who is from Louisiana, and is recovering from a second multiple organ transplant.

Her father Kendall was overwhelmed by the gesture. "They're here to play baseball, but for them to take the time to come do this is just awesome."

LSU Second Baseman Cole Freeman says there was nothing more satisfying than seeing the smiles on their faces. "We can't even imagine what they're going through. We're just happy that we can come here and give them a little break from reality."

Most of the patients are being treated for organ transplants, cancer and traumatic injuries.

The team played a little baseball with the kids and signed autographs for some of their youngest fans.

The LSU Tigers face number one seed Oregon State Friday at 7:00.
