City Begins Curbside Tree Debris Pick Up

As the clean up continues from Friday's powerful thunderstorms, Waste Management will pick up branches less than two inches in diameter  and up to 4 feet in length beginning Monday morning.

Residents are asked to bundle the branches and brush with string or twine. Bundles may weigh up to 30 pounds.   Residents can go to wasteline.org for full information on what is accepted for yard waste collection. The pickup will be on the regular collection day.

Also starting Monday, separate collection of yard waste will be suspended indefinitely.  The compost operation is at the Papillion Creek Waste Water treatment plant that was damaged in the storm.  The building that houses the production equipment has been destroyed.

OPPD now estimates it will be Tuesday before power can be restored at the plant.

The two drop-off locations at Ta Ha Zouka and Towl Parks will remain open until further notice. The hours will be 8am-6pm at both locations. Proof of Omaha residency will still be required.
