Man Arrested For Pair Of Bank Robberies

Omaha Police have made an arrest in a pair of recent bank robberies.  A tip to Omaha Crime Stoppers helped the Greater Omaha FBI Bank Robbery Task Force officers identify 23 year old Traynell Toney as the suspect in both hold ups.

He was arrested at 8805 Vernon Avenue around 3:00 and booked at the Douglas County Department of Corrects for two counts of robbery.

The first robbery happened around 12:30 p.m. on June 2 at the US Bank located inside Baker’s Supermarket north of 90th and Fort.  Employees reported a black male entered the bank, produced a note that said he was armed with a gun and demanded money.  After receiving cash, the suspect fled the area in a dark colored sedan.

One week later Police were called to a robbery at the US Bank located inside Baker’s Supermarket near 132 and West Maple Road.  Employees reported a black male entered the bank, produced a note that said he was armed with a gun and demanded money.  After receiving cash he fled the area in a dark colored sedan.

Video surveillance cameras recorded the robberies at both locations and Police say Toney is responsible for both of them.
