A man learned the hard way that you can run but cannot hide from an Omaha Police dog. Sergeant Stefan Davis says after crashing a pickup through a fence and hitting a tree on John J. Pershing Drive near Craig Street Tuesday afternoon, the driver got out and ran into a nearby wooded area.
Davis says they set up a perimeter and brought in a K9 to search the area. The dog eventually found the man hiding in the woods. He was arrested and treated for a dog bite and injuries suffered in the crash.
A passenger in the truck had to be freed from the wreckage and sustained minor injuries. Police are trying to determine what caused the crash and why the driver ran.
