The College World Series is just around the corner, and one thing everyone plans out is where to park.
Kristi Andersen with the Metropolitan Entertainment & Convention Authority wants fans to know that there a many parking options. She points out CenturyLink Center's Lot A, located behind the arena, and the CenturyLink Center parking garage don't get used as much as they could. "We have found, over the last several years, that those lots are often underutilized for the series. Fans just don't think to park there, but they're so close to the stadium and there's usually a lot of spots available."
The cost for the CenturyLink garage is $12, Lot A will cost $10. Cash and credit cars are accepted for payment. Lots B and D are reserved for pass-only parking, except for during the Opening Ceremonies. Overnight parking is not allowed in MECA parking lots.
Andersen says a new parking garage is also expected to be open to baseball fans. "We have heard that Capitol District, the newest development, at 10th and Capitol will be opening their garage in time for their fans to park there."
Another option is the Metro Stadium Circulator. It costs 25 cents to ride and has various pick up and drop off locations near the stadium. Buses run two hours before the first game until two hours after the last game each day. You can find more information about the circulator here.
Creighton University also offers paid parking in some of their lots from Cuming to Cass between 15th and 20th Streets.
A number of garages around downtown are available as well, for more information about those lots visit the Park Omaha website here.
