The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office made a large methamphetamine bust in Lincoln Wednesday morning.
Officials say a traffic stop on I-80 turned into a bust when the deputies became suspicious of the occupants of the car during the stop.
Deputies received consent to search the vehicle and discovered 35 one pound packages of methamphetamine that were bound for Omaha. The drugs had a street value of $1.5 million.
The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office worked with the DEA, Homeland Security and Omaha Police to arrest people in Omaha in connection with the bust. Authorities seized over $112,000 in drug money at several locations in Omaha.
This is the second large meth bust by the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office in the last two months. In April, deputies seized 30 pounds of meth destined for Omaha, with a street value of $1.3 million.
