Storm Chasers Host Peanut Free Night At Werner Park

There won't be any peanuts or Cracker Jacks at the Omaha Storm Chasers game Monday night and baseball fans who suffer from peanut allergies will be able to attend the game without any worries.

No peanut-related items will be served and the ball park has been scoured to get rid of any peanut residue.

Storm Chasers President Martie Cordaro says "Peanut Free Night" is one of their most important community events of the year. “Through the efforts of our ballpark operations staff led by Matt Owen, we are pleased to provide a safe environment for everyone who would otherwise not be able to attend a professional baseball game. All deserve to attend a game at Werner Park.”

The event is sponsored by The Asthma and Allergy Center and President Dr. Linda Ford says she is happy to see so many families getting to enjoy baseball in a peanut-free environment. “Peanut Free night gives [us] a chance to raise awareness about food allergy and for our patients to learn about new products, research and education. The Asthma & Allergy Center is proud to be sponsors of Peanut Free Night and to help provide this night of baseball for the community."

No peanut related items will be served at the game including peanuts, sunflower seeds or tree nuts.

The Storm Chasers host Nashville at 7:05 at Werner Park.
