Omaha Police are investigating the death of a woman Wednesday night as a homicide.
Authorities say officers were called to the area of 16th and Yates just before 9:30 to investigate a report of suspicious activity.
When officers arrived they found 32 year old Rachel Ham down and bleeding in the street. Omaha Fire and Rescue crews responded and pronounced Ham dead at the scene.
Police say 53 year old Ernesto Lugo has been arrested in connection to the murder. Lugo was booked into Douglas County Corrections for Second Degree Murder and Use of a Firearm to Commit a Felony.
