Burglary Suspect Arrested As House Burns

A burglary investigation took an unusual twist late Thursday morning when Omaha Police found a house on fire near 48th and Oak.

Omaha Police Lt. Steve King says they got a call of a home burglary around 11:15. King says when they arrived they determined that the suspect was still inside the house.

As they made their way inside, King says they found the house on fire.  Police say 41 year old Timothy Horvath broke a window and jumped out of the house.  He was quickly taken into custody by officers who were in the back of the house.

Horvath was taken to the hospital to be checked out for minor injuries.  Fire officials say the damage was confined to a bedroom.  Horvath is facing burglary and arson charges.
