Car Hits Omaha House After Shooting

An Omaha man is recovering after he was shot while riding in a vehicle that ended up hitting a house near 65th and Ames Avenue around 2:30 Friday morning.

According to police, Trenelle Miller was driving near 65th and Ames when a dark colored car with tinted windows pulled along side.  Someone in that vehicle began firing shots.

In an effort to flee from the area, Miller lost control and crashed into a house.  A passenger in the vehicle, 24 year old Vernon Martin, was shot in the leg. He was treated and released from the hospital.

No one in the house was injured and the homeowner is adding up the damage. The search continues for the shooter.
