OPS Board Approves New Contract For Superintendent

The search for an OPS Superintendent has come to a halt, for the time being.

At the OPS board meeting Monday night, members voted to keep current superintendent Mark Evans for another school year in the interim position.

Evans had previously planned to retire at the end of the 2016-17 school year, but the three final candidates for superintendent withdrew their names from consideration.

Evans's one year contract includes a $295,000 paycheck for the 2017-18 school year, along with extra vacation.
