Anti-Gay Note Left On Creighton Student's Door

After a picture of a note left on a Creighton student's door made its rounds on social media this week, University officials are speaking out.

University President Rev. Daniel Hendrickson sent a letter to students, faculty and staff on Friday stating that an investigation has been launched into the anti-gay note reportedly left on the dorm door.

The note uses gay slurs and ends by saying, "Kill yourself leave our school gays are not welcome in Nebraska or Creighton."

In the letter Hendrickson says the note not only violates Creighton policy, but is also not a representation of the desired environment at the university. "The incident is a breach of the Jesuit values we all share as the Creighton community, values which bind us all in the common mission of ensuring Creighton is a safe, respectful, inclusive place for learning."

The letter goes on to say that Creighton's Office of Equity and Inclusion is investigating the note.
