There is good news for patrons of M's Pub at 11th and Howard. Owner Anne Mellen tells NewsRadio 1110 KFAB she received the building permit she has been anxiously waiting. The reopening date is now expected to be at the end of August.
Mellen says, "Everything is on schedule and got lots of people that are coming back that used to work for me in the past and we are trying our best to be just the same before the fire happened."
The building in the Old Market was destroyed in January of 2016 after a natural gas explosion and fire.
Mellen says they are making a few changes to the building. They are adding a north addition to M's so the restrooms will be brought up to the main level. She is also enlarging the kitchen. She says in the former building the prep-kitchen was downstairs so this will make things much more efficient for staff.
Mellen says, "That part will look different but you won't be able to see those things from the dining room. We want the dining room to look as it was."
