A young teen is in jail after refusing to stop for Omaha Police early Thursday morning. Just after 2:00 a.m. officers spotted someone driving a stolen vehicle near 25th St and Pierce Street.
Officers attempted to make a traffic stop, but the driver refused to pull over.. A pursuit was declared, but was shortly discontinued. Officers again located the stolen vehicle at 24th and Pierce Street and a traffic stop was attempted.
The driver refused to stop and fled eastbound and crashed into another vehicle at 20th and Pierce Street. The driver attempted to flee the scene on foot, but was quickly apprehended. The 15 year old suspect was not injured.
The driver of the other vehicle was transported to CHI Creighton University Medical Center for minor, non-life threatening injuries. The underaged driver was booked for felony flight to avoid, leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, theft by receiving, and robbery.
