Omaha Police have identified an eighteen month old baby who was shot Monday afternoon.
Authorities say Ma'Laya Buie is the victim in the shooting at an apartment complex near 103rd and Hamilton Plaza.
Officers were called to the Pinetree Apartments around 3:45 and learned that family members had driven the child to Children's Hospital with a gunshot wound to the head.
Officer Phil Anson says it's unclear if the shooting was intentional or accidental. The child's injuries are described as life threatening.
The investigation is ongoing.
