Omaha to Host NCAA Tournament Games In 2020

Omaha will get the chance to host NCAA tournament and championship games yet again.

The NCAA announced Tuesday that the Men's Basketball Tournament will return to Omaha for a fifth time.

The CenturyLink Center Omaha, along with Creighton, will host the First and Second rounds of the basketball tournament on March 20 and 22, 2020.

The Omaha arena hosted the tournament before in 2008, 2012, 2015 and will host regional tournament games on March 23 and 25, 2018.

The CenturyLink Center Omaha will also host the 2020 Division I Women's Volleyball Championship with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln on December 17 and 19, 2020.

The volleyball championship has been held in Omaha twice before in 2008 and 2015, as well as regional games in 2005 and 2012.

In order to host NCAA tournament events a city must show that there is a welcoming environment, ample accommodations, easy travel and adherence to NCAA principles such as safe and respectful atmospheres.

Ticket information will be released at a later date for both events.
