Driver In Early Morning Crash Dies

A woman who was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after an accident early Monday morning has died.

Douglas County Sheriff's authorities say a northbound Toyota Prius and a southbound semi-truck collided at the southwest corner the intersection of Blair High Road and State Street just after 7:00.

Witnesses told authorities that both drivers had a green light, and that the Prius driver turned into the path of the truck.

The impact pushed the Prius into a ditch and caused the semi to hit a power pole.

The woman driving the Prius was transported to the hospital in critical condition, where she later died from injuries sustained in the crash.

The identity of the woman is not known at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
