Omaha Police say a man that suffered a gunshot wound to his thigh Wednesday afternoon has admitted to shooting himself.
Authorities say 42 year old Sean Johnston accidentally shot himself just before 3:00 near 97th and Center.
After shooting himself Johnston approached a woman, asking her for help. While the woman was on the phone with 911 dispatchers, Johnston walked away from her.
Officers were able to locate the injured man a short while later. A gun was found near the location of the original call.
He was transported to Nebraska Medicine for treatment of his non-life threatening injury.
Police say charges are pending against Johnston.
