An allegation against State Senator Ernie Chambers may have sighed its last breath.
The claim brought up questions about Chambers and if he actually lives in the North Omaha district he represents.
On Friday a committee looking into the allegations decided to ask the Legislature to dismiss the claim.
The allegation came from John Sciara, who lost to Chambers in last November's election. Sciara argued before the committee that Chambers lives in Bellevue, not North Omaha, and has driven by Chambers' home numerous times without seeing the senator.
Sciara claimed Chambers lives with his aide, who accompanies the senator to the Capitol daily. Senator Carol Blood, of Bellevue, lives on the same street as the aide and she says Chambers does not live there.
The committee is asking that a report with their recommendation goes to the full Legislature next week.
