Repeat Drunk Driver Arrested After Hit And Run

An Omaha man with a history of drinking and driving found himself back in jail Monday night after police investigated a hit and run crash.

Officers were called to 1509 North 45th St to investigate after a car crashed into a retaining wall and the driver fled.

When police arrived,  they found the vehicle and talked to a witness who saw the driver get out and walk westbound before police arrived.

Officers found Bryan Woodle near Northwest Radial Highway and Parker Street, where he was taken into custody.  Police say Woodle was showing signs of impairment had had a strong smell of alcohol.

During a data check it was discovered that Woodle had his driver's license revoked for life as of 2004 for prior DUIs.

Police say Woodle refused a preliminary breath test and was booked on a number of charges, including DUI-2 prior convictions, operating a vehicle during revocation and leaving the scene of an accident.
