Nebraska Medicine Partners With Army, Offers Jobs

The U.S. Army and Nebraska Medicine have signed an agreement to prepare, train and connect soldiers to future employers. Nebraska Medicine is the first company in Nebraska to partner with the Army on the Partnership for Youth Success Program.

It guarantees soldiers a job interview and possible employment after their service in the Army provides them with the unique opportunity to simultaneously serve their country and prepare for their future.

The program is designed to help soldiers prepare for a career after the Army by connecting them with employers who understand the skills, discipline, and work ethic that military service members bring to a business.

This program is part of a long-term Army effort to help soldiers forge professional relationships with businesses and encourage business owners to look to the Army as a plentiful and reliable recruiting source. Since PaYS began in 2000, more than 600 employers have partnered with the program.

Frank Venuto with Nebraska Medicine says they understand the skill and discipline service members possess.

"Mission driven, they work hard, they're dedicated, they're smart, they're innovative, they can problem solve. We're just thrilled and delighted to create that relationship.  Venuto says there are more than 600 current job openings in their organization and there will be a great need for nurses and other medical professionals in the future.
