Lincoln Police Search For Missing Woman

Lincoln Police are asking for the community's help in finding a woman who disappeared over the weekend.

Around 2:30 Saturday afternoon Lincoln Police and Fire & Rescue were dispatched to a fire at 50 year old Shelly Miller's northeast Lincoln home.

A neighbor called 911 after seeing heavy smoke coming from the basement. Fire crews were able to extinguish the fire, which was caused by an unattended candle.

After multiple searches of the house it was determined Miller was not home at the time of the fire.

Miller's car is gone, but her cell phone was left behind and her family has not been able to reach her.

Her family says this behavior is out of character and they are concerned for her safety.

Shelly A. Miller is described as 5'5, 140 pounds, with blonde hair and brown eyes. She drives a silver 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee with Nebraska plates TEF 894.

Lincoln Police are urging anyone who knows the whereabouts of Miller, or her vehicle, to contact them at 402-441-6000.
