A former University of Nebraska-Lincoln Chancellor was found guilty of child endangerment Friday over the handling of the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse case.
Graham Spanier was the Penn State President during the Sandusky scandal five years ago.
He was accused of failing to report and possibly covering up the sexual abuse by Sandusky on a number of young boys. Spanier said he did what he could with the information he had at the time.
Jurors found Spanier guilty on one count of child endangerment but acquitted him on the two other charges he faced, conspiracy and a second count of child endangerment.
Two of Spanier's lieutenants, who had also received complaints about Sandusky, plead guilty to misdemeanor charges and testified against Spanier in his case.
Spanier spent four years as the UNL Chancellor from 1991-1995.
