Creighton University officials announced Monday night that they have suspended the campus chapter of the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity until 2025.
No fraternity activity of any kind is allowed during that time. Creighton says it conducted an extensive investigation and a review hearing on March 17. The university notified the chapter of the decision today.
The suspension comes after a female student was stabbed on February 11 in her dorm at Gallagher Hall. 19-year-old Christopher Wheeler was arrested for cutting her neck with a pocket knife.
Creighton officials say while conducting their investigation into the attack, it was reported that Wheeler was with members of Phi Kappa Psi fraternity at their off campus house on February 10.
The school suspended the chapter on February 13 following additional reports of underage drinking, hazing and the distribution of drugs.
Creighton's Center for Student integrity found multiple, serious violations of the University's code of conduct and anti-hazing policies.
