A 14 year old boy was killed in a one vehicle crash near the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge early Saturday morning.
Omaha Police say a speeding Toyota Camry was northbound on Riverfront Drive around 2:30 when the driver lost control and slammed into a pole.
Investigators say 14-year-old Kevin Ramirez-Cabrera was a backseat passenger and was not wearing a seat belt. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The driver, 16 year old Leonardo Regalado, and a second passenger were wearing seat belts and escaped injury. Police say speed was a major factor in the crash, but alcohol was not.
