No one was injured after fire tore through an Omaha house late Friday afternoon. When firefighters arrived at 13th and Hickory, there was heavy smoke and flames coming from the house and a fear that someone may be trapped inside.
The intense heat and flames prevented them from searching the burning house and they had to fight the fire from the outside. They learned that a woman who was home at the time was able to make it out safely.
She and another adult and three children will have to find another place to stay.
Investigators say the fire was determined to be accidental and was due to careless disposal of smoking materials.
