AAA's "Tow To Go" Ready For St. Patrick's Day

Before heading out for St. Patrick's Day festivities tomorrow, Triple-A Nebraska wants everyone to have a plan in place when it comes to drinking and not driving.  This means choosing a designated driver, calling a cab, staying where you are celebrating or find another safe way home.  For those who didn't, spokesperson Matt Nasworthy says Tow To Go is there to help.

Nasworthy says, ""Tow To Go" is basically a safety net for the folks who don't plan ahead when they are celebrating with alcohol.  We will come out and take them and their vehicle home at no charge."

AAA reports that from 2011 to 2015, a total of 252 lives were lost on our nation's roadways in drunk-driving crashes on St. Patrick's Day.

The program is available Friday, March 17th through 6 a.m. Sunday morning March 19th.  The program is only available in Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Nebraska and Iowa.  The rides are confidential but are limited to within 10 miles.  The AAA tow truck will take both the vehicle and the driver home.  This is free and available to AAA members and non-members.

The number to call for a tow is 855-2-TOW-2-GO or 855-286-9246.
