Woman Shot At During Carjacking

A Council Bluffs woman got the scare of her life just before 11:00 this morning.  The 26 year old woman told officers that while she was in the parking lot of Bucky’s near South 24th Street and I-80 a man got out of another vehicle and approached her while displaying a handgun.

The gunman got into the passenger side of her vehicle and told her to “drive” while pointing the handgun at her.  As she got near South 35th Street near Nebraska Avenue, the suspect told the victim to pull over so he could drive.

After stopping the vehicle, the woman got out of the vehicle and tried to flee by running across an empty grass field on the southeast corner of South 35th Street and Nebraska Ave. The suspect then drove the car into the field after the woman and police say he may have possibly fired a shot at her.

The woman was not injured.  She managed to flag down a passing motorist who gave her a ride to a nearby business where she called 911.
