Severe Weather Sirens To Be Tested Saturday

It is something we in the Midwest have become accustomed to, the sound of tornado sirens blaring in the distance.

With Spring right around the corner, the risk of severe weather comes with it.

Saturday morning both Douglas and Sarpy counties will begin testing their severe weather sirens.

Douglas County will test their sirens around 11:00 AM, with a second test conducted about 30 minutes later. All subsequent tests for Douglas County throughout the season will be on Wednesdays.

Sarpy County will test their sirens at 10:00 and 10:30 AM Saturday. Each siren will sound for three minutes. Sarpy will continue tests throughout the season on the first Saturday of every month at 10:00 AM.

Severe weather sirens will be tested monthly March through October.
