Omaha firefighters battled a two-alarm fire at the Lake Candlewood Apartment complex near 120th and Rose Lane, just west of the Miracle Hills golf course this afternoon.
Residents made it to safety after the first alarm was called in around 1:15. Minutes later a second alarm was called because crews had a hard time locating the source of the fire. The fire reportedly started on an upper floor.
Firefighters were on top of the roof battling the flames. The American Red Cross is helping residents who were forced from their homes.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
