Three Teens Under Arrest For Carjacking, Crash

Three teens are under arrest after a carjacking on Wednesday.

Police say four suspects were involved in a carjacking and pursuit that led to a crash near 37th and Ames.

18 year old Leaudrye Scott is charged with robbery, attempted robbery, and felony flight to avoid arrest. The other two suspects arrested, 14 year olds Jaiesha Haynie and Emoni Phelps are charged with robbery and attempted robbery. All three are booked as adults.

One suspect still remains in the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Omaha Police say Maria Salas called police Wednesday to report that she had been carjacked just before 1:00 at the Goodwill near 72nd and Ames.

She said she was approached by multiple young black males and Hispanic females, who threatened to shoot her and demanded her vehicle. The group of teens then took off in Salas' white Mercury.

While searching for the suspects, police saw the vehicle in the area of 52nd and Evans and tried to stop the teens.

They fled from police to the area of 37th and Ames, where they hit other vehicles in the intersection.

The four suspects were taken to CHI Creighton University Medical Center for treatment before being booked.

The investigation is on going with investigators still conducting photo lineups.
