Omaha Police say a 23 year old man was shot Friday morning while attempting to rob a barbershop.
Police responded to the Fade King's Barbershop at 29th and Q at 9:50 for a report of shots fired.
When officers arrived they found Luca Ortiz on the sidewalk outside the business suffering from gunshot wounds.
Employees told police that Ortiz was armed with a shotgun and tried to rob them.
One of the employees was also armed and exchanged gunfire with Ortiz, who was wounded.
No one else was hurt.
He is being treated for his injuries at Nebraska Medicine and is being guarded by police there.
Charges are pending on the outcome of the investigation.
