Three Shooting Suspects Arrested After Pursuit

Three men wanted for an early afternoon shooting near 42nd and Redman are in custody after leading police on a high speed chase in a stolen vehicle.

The shooting happened around 1:00 and the victim was driven to Immanuel Hospital.  Around 2:45 Lt. Anna Colon says officers spotted the stolen vehicle near 60th and Ames Avenue and were able to identify the driver and two passengers as the shooting suspects.

The car took off at a high rate of speed and went as far west as 72nd Street before heading back to the east along Sorenson Parkway.  Speeds reached up to 65 mph and the Able 1 police helicopter was called in to keep an eye on the car.

After blowing several stop signs, the suspects abandoned the vehicle near 44th and Vernon and ran in different directions.   Police swarmed the area and brought in a K-9 Unit.  All three were arrested and one was treated for injuries after the police dog got a hold of him.
