A 24 year old Council Bluffs man is behind bars after leading Pottawattamie County Authorities on a chase Tuesday morning.
Just after 10:00 Council Bluffs Police were called in to help Pottawattamie Sheriff's Deputies and Carter Lake Police on a pursuit in progress.
They attempted to stop a black dodge Stratus with stolen plates in Carter Lake, but the vehicle wouldn't stop. The suspects fled into Omaha and then back into Council Bluffs across the I-480 bridge before ditching the vehicle near 31st Street and Avenue L.
One suspect, Lathen Bills, was arrested while fleeing from the area.
Authorities say while running from the scene Bills was involved in a confrontation with an elderly man. They believe Bills hit the victim in the face causing facial injuries and a possible concussion.
The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Bills has been charged with Eluding an Officer and Willful Injury, with more charges possible pending an investigation.
A second suspect, described as a Hispanic male, is being sought in the case as well.
While at the scene of the first case, police observed a white Honda Civic speeding, then park in the area where officers were and two women got out of the car.
An officer ran the license plate of the vehicle and determined it had been reported stolen from Omaha. Although the women had fled from the car, police were able to locate them.
The driver of the stolen Honda, 32 year old Jherri Stabler of Omaha, was arrested for Eluding and Second Degree Theft.
The passenger, 23 year old Hope Walking Bull of Council Bluffs, was arrested for Eluding and Possession of Weapons after police discovered she had brass knuckles on her.
Investigators do not believe the two incidents are related.
