House Fire Caused By Careless Soldering

No one was injured when fire broke out inside a house near 34th and Harrison Sunday night.  When crews arrived around 9:30, they found heavy smoke and flames coming from the rear of the house.

The fire was quickly extinguished.  Two people doing remodeling work in the house at the time of the fire were able to safely escape.  Investigators say careless soldering of pipes in a wall has been determined to be the cause of the fire.

Damage to the house and contents was estimated at around $20,000
