UNL Fraternity Temporarily Suspended

A University of Nebraska-Lincoln fraternity has been placed on an interim suspension as of Tuesday.

The Phi Gamma Delta fraternity is under investigation by the Office of Student Affairs after reports of behavior that violates UNL's Student Code of Conduct.

The investigation started after allegations of members making obscene comments during the Women's March on January 21st.

Witnesses say members of the frat were chanting "No means yes" in response to the marchers' chant of "No means no."

The investigation led to more broad conduct issues that needed to be addressed, including the reckless use of alcohol by members.

The suspension means Phi Gamma Delta will not be recognized by the university and the chapter's affiliation will be revoked from the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life.

UNL officials say the suspension will be in effect until they finish their investigation.
