The search is on for three suspects who led authorities on a chase in a stolen pick up in Council Bluffs early Tuesday morning.
Pottawattamie County deputies began pursuing the vehicle south on River Road headed toward Council Bluffs. Council Bluffs officers joined in the pursuit and used stop sticks to deflate three of the vehicle's tires. The Deputy that started the pursuit had to give up after his patrol vehicle became disabled.
The vehicle continued to go south on 25th Street and ran a stoplight at Broadway before striking a vehicle on the rear passenger side. No injuries were reported in the crash.
The suspects abandoned the vehicle at 25th and 3rd Avenue where witnesses say they ran from the area. An Omaha Police K-9 unit was called in to help with the search, but none of the suspects were located. The vehicle was determined to have been previously reported stolen from Mills County, Iowa. Anyone with information about this crime is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at (712) 328-STOP (7867) or the Council Bluffs Police Special Operations unit at (712) 328-4948.
