Elkhorn Student Arrested For Social Media Threat

An Elkhorn high student is in trouble after police arrested him for terroristic threats and use of a weapon to commit a felony.

The student reportedly snapchated a picture of himself holding a pellet gun. Underneath the picture was a caption that said "gonna shoot up the school."  Students brought the snapchat picture to the school's attention and they notified poilce.

Omaha police had extra presence at the school throughout the day Friday and went to the home of the student who made the threats. He was not at school that day so he and his parents were contacted and interviewed.

After a thorough investigation, the student was arrested and booked into the Douglas County Youth Center. School officials said they are grateful for the speedy response of Omaha Police.
