Authorities have identified the driver that killed 11 year old Mason Triplett Wednesday afternoon in Wahoo.
They say 27 year old Sean Buffum was behind the wheel of the truck that hit and killed Triplett while he was walking home from school.
Police say no citations have been issued yet, and won't until Saunders County investigators finish their accident reconstruction.
Triplett was walking alone when he was hit at the corner of 23rd and Chestnut Street.
He was taken to the hospital in extremely critical condition, where he later died.
Wahoo Public School's Superintendent Brandon Lavaley says they they will do all they can to help those grieving the loss of Triplett. "Our crisis team met last night and did a lot of planning for today. We have counselors that are in all of our buildings that are there for our students and staff."
