Trump-Hater Sues to Get Job Back

Woman Sues Ex-Employer After Being Fired for Flipping Off Trump

A woman who was fired last fall after she made headlines by flipping off President Trump's motorcade while riding her bicycle in Virginia is now suing her former employer.

Juli Briskman filed a lawsuit yesterday against government contractor Akima, arguing it's illegal under state law for a government contractor to fire an employee out of fear of unlawful government retaliation. Briskman says she was told she was fired because she posted the viral photo of her flipping the bird on her Facebook page, violating the company's social media policy. But she says another employee who wrote a profane comment in a Facebook discussion about Black Lives Matter earlier in 2017 was allowed to keep his job as long as he deleted the post.

The suit contends the difference shows she was really fired over Akima's concerns about upsetting the federal government and potentially losing business.

After Briskman last her job last year, more than $130,000 was raised for her via a GoFundMe account.
