(Douglas County, NE) -- A burn ban is in place for Douglas County as high winds and dry conditions affect the area.
The ban is in place until further notice. High winds are expected in the Omaha metro on both Thursday and Friday. The National Weather Service says wind gusts up to 45 miles per hour are possible. The Interstate 80 corridor and areas to the south are expected to see the strongest winds Thursday night into early Friday morning.
