(Council Bluffs, IA) -- Some new hires to the Council Bluffs Police Department will receive a $10,000 bonus for joining their ranks.
Monday night, the Council Bluffs City Council approved a measure to offer the bonus to those joining the CBPD who are already certified law enforcement officers. CBPD says they spend about $9,000 to have new officers become certified, which also takes several months. The hope is that the bonus will bring in more applicants and save them time on getting officers on the streets.
The incentive is in place through June 2024.
