(Omaha, NE) -- Good news for commuters driving on Interstate 80 near 84th Street...lanes are reopening ahead of schedule.
The Nebraska Department of Transportation says weather permitting, beginning October 27, all I-80 lanes at 84th Street and the Big Papio Creek will be open. NDOT says that is 24 days ahead of schedule. The westbound lanes were closed for construction in early July, shifting traffic to the eastbound lanes.
Additional nighttime lane closures will occur in spring 2022 to complete the bridge deck resurfacing. Anticipated completion is late spring 2022.
