(Omaha, NE) -- The city of Omaha's free, unlimited Fall yard waste collection season is underway.
For six weeks, from October 18th through November 27th, yard waste may be placed in brown paper yard waste bags and set out alongside your carts for free collection. Pre-paid stickers normally needed for the brown bags to be collected will not be required through November 27th. The city says material collected during the six week program will be collected separately and taken to Oma-Gro for composting.
Yard waste in any other type of container will not be collected. The maximum weight for each bag is 40 pounds. Yard waste placed in the garbage carts will be taken to the landfill as usual.
