Man killed near 61st and Pratt identified as Creighton baseball director

(Omaha, NE) -- The Creighton community is mourning the death of one of their own. 37-year-old Christopher Gradoville was shot and killed Thursday morning. Gradoville was the Director of Baseball Operations for Creighton. He was also a former player at the university.

Omaha Police say Gradoville was shot at a home near 61st and Pratt after arriving at the home to perform maintenance work. 43-year-old Ladell Thornton is charged with first-degree murder in connection to Gradoville's death. Police say Thornton has been booked into Douglas County Corrections.
