(Omaha, NE) -- A long-time Omaha party supply company is closing its doors.
After 33 years, Nobbies will end its run this Fall. In a release the company said that owners, Joy and Gordon Watanabe, "Will pursue personal adventures and prioritize family life, but they wish to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Omaha community."
Nobbies opened in September 1988 at 120th and Dodge in the old Western Crossing Shopping Center, which is now Menard’s. The business then moved to its current location in the former Food City, at 120th and Center, in September 1993. “This is our home, and this community has been incredibly generous to us for more than three decades,” said Gordon Watanabe. “We want to thank our former and current employees for their hard work and our customers for their loyal patronage.” Gordon is the son the late Fern and Harry Watanabe, founders of the Oriental Trading Company, a long-standing, Omaha-based corporation.
To extend a “Thank You” to everyone who has supported them throughout the years, NobbiesParties will hold a sale beginning Thursday, September 30, at 11:00 a.m. Everything in the store will be up to 50% off. Store hours will be Monday - Saturday 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
